Seek & Sketch: Scientific Illustration
Grades: 4th -12th | Duration: 2 hours

As America expanded in the 1800s, so did people’s interest in its natural habitat. Artists like John James Audubon used their illustration skills to help others explore the flora and fauna of this growing country. Students will learn about the importance of scientific illustration, and will examine animal and plant specimens to make illustrations of their own.
