The Changing Landscape
Grades: 4th -12th | Duration: 2 hours

Students will have the unique opportunity to explore the history of New York State through art and ecology. First, a visit to Fenimore Art Museum’s Hudson River School painting collection will give students an insight into these artists’ interest in nature preservation, at a time when upstate New York was still largely frontier. Then, at The Farmers’ Museum, students will hike the special nature trails of the site and take part in hands-on activities to learn how the landscape of New York State has changed over time due to human and natural occurrences.
