We invite our members and their guests to attend our Annual Meeting each July. The one hundred and fifth Annual Meeting will be held on July 17, 2008 at 4:00pm at the Louis C. Jones Center at The Farmers' Museum. Dr. Bruce Cole, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities will deliver the keynote address entitled “We the People,” Picturing America. Picturing America is the vehicle for the Endowment to teach “America’s History Through our Nation’s Art.
We the People was launched in 2002 to make certain citizens throughout America would understand the ideals and institutions that helped shape the country. Picturing America brings high quality reproductions of notable American art to public and private schools, libraries and communities. Picturing America gives participants an opportunity to learn about our nation’s history and culture in a fresh and engaging way. The program uses art as a catalyst for the study of America—the cultural, political and historic threads woven into our nation’s fabric over time.
