FENIMORE ART MUSEUM
The terrace gardens of Fenimore Art Museum offer an elegant setting overlooking historic Otsego Lake. The gardens and neo-Georgian museum building provide a timeless background for any event. The gazebos in the gardens are a special location for a small luncheon meeting, tea or dinner. The lush lawn behind the museum sweeps to the lakeshore from the terrace and is a magnificent site for a luncheon, dinner or elegant wedding reception. Tents accommodating up to 1000 guests can be situated on the lawn.
In the American Indian wing of the museum, there is a 120-seat auditorium. It is completely equipped for audiovisual presentations of all kinds. Comfortable and private, it is an excellent location for a conference, lecture or intimate concert. By special arrangement, some of the galleries in the museum can be open during business receptions and meetings. Curatorial tours are available by reservation.
THE FARMERS' MUSEUM
At The Farmers' Museum, the Louis C. Jones Center provides an ideal setting for wedding receptions of all styles—from informal barbeques to the most elegant dinner. The room holds up to 175 for dinner or cocktails and 200 for a concert or lecture. It is also an attractive and convenient location for corporate meetings, receptions and dinners. There is a private courtyard on the south side of the Louis C. Jones Center that can be rented in conjunction with the main room or for use on its own for outdoor events.
The fully restored 19th century tavern in the historic village area of the museum offers an intimate location for small gatherings. The tavern provides a memorable site for small corporate functions, rehearsal dinners, or the celebration of birthdays and anniversaries.
The non-denominational Cornwallville Church with its historic pews and light-filled interior provides the perfect setting for a wedding ceremony.
